A turboprop is maintained according to an approved maintenance programme rather than one standard service interval. Scheduled tasks may become due by flight hours, flight cycles, calendar time, or a combination of these. Some items are checked during routine line maintenance, while more detailed inspections and component work occur at longer intervals.
The correct schedule depends on the aircraft, engine and propeller models, utilisation and operating environment. Aircraft exposed to high cycles, dust, salt, moisture, unprepared strips or extended remote operations may require additional inspections or more frequent attention. The controlling maintenance data and regulatory requirements must always be checked for the individual aircraft.
